Finally, a week of vacation from teaching! I decided to go to Mendoza to maximize my “vacation.” The trip took 16 hours (6hrs more than the regular journey) because there were a lot of checkpoints if you’re coming from Cordoba. I was received by Jose and Eugenia of Posada Olivar and I couldn’t believe what I saw the moment I arrived: Paradise!!! Am I really going to live here for a week?!
Posada Olivar is a very big place and has only four (4) big rooms. This place is ideal when you are travelling as a family. The place is child friendly too! Argentina is already in the summer season and Mendoza was awfully hot. Good thing this hotel has a pool!
The room has 2 beds (1 double, 1 single) and for the first time in months, I was able to sleep peacefully. Volunteer dorms won’t allow you to do that so I made sure I maximized my stay here. It is also equipped with cabinets, an office table, and a very nice bathroom!
As soon as I arrived, I filled the tub with hot water, turned the music on and bathed. I think I was in there for 45 minutes! It was like an ultimate spa experience in a hotel!
As usual, if a hotel doesn’t have a kitchen for guest use, that’s a turn off for me. I love cooking my own food and amenities like this are really important in my travels. Posada Olivar met that requirement.
